MIGRATION ANNOUNCEMENT THE THIRD

hayisforhoruss : main blog, will include bullshit I like + original work

atombombproductions : side blog, will include original work + drafts

MOVING ANNOUNCEMENT THE SECOND

new blogs are hayisforhoruss [main, includes shitty text posts and all of my interest + original works] and atombombproductions [original works only.]

Movin’ blogs again.

So. As usual I have become bored of my mode of existence and now seek change. I’ve gotten tired of having my lit blog as my main, especially since I’m less productive now and spend more time taking dumb pictures of fish than I do writing.

Those of you who adore my stupid personality should follow hayisforhoruss which is my new main. It’ll be a mix of fandom, personal, and biology crud, as well as art and lit. Those of you who don’t enjoy my inane commentary should follow atombombproductions, a side blog for just art, lit, and non-dumb photography.

I will be following most of you back from my new main, so don’t you know, get all lonely.

At some point, it became midnight.

I saw hills rising full of pine
I saw something savaged on the side of the freeway
And I saw signs unreadable due to the way they lay
And I saw barns closed up against the heat.

I waited past sunfall for something to skitter out of the dark forest
I held my breath for house cats in the hedges
I watched a satellite cross the sky in Vermont
And I came home and found my sky navy and far from black.

It’s easy to create poetry by picking words, from other’s works
All one needs is a thick marker, to make a thick line
It is another craft entirely to divine, from the sand along the highway, any moment
Worth inscribing.

I have a sieve that lets orzo slide through
And I have memories mostly of missing time
There is a tumbling momentum to my life I find enters my lines
And there is a pattern of missing dots herein described.

I bit the bullet and got a new angelfish. His name is Dean, and he’s not camera shy? I’ve had the lil dude less than 24 hours and he’s already eating and trying to follow the camera lens. Which is obnoxious because it meant he kept moving. I managed to get him to sit sorta-still in the corner.
[And then the fuckin loach showed up.]

Anyway, it’s pretty obvious he’s expressing zebra, but does anyone have any idea what else is going on in there? His bands break into freckles and he has minimal fin markings. Either way, pretty sassy angel.

Dean is a the best name for him haha, sassy angel skdjfd

anyway, when they speckle like that its called a leopard!

He has wayyyy too much striping to be a leopard, at nickle sized he should just have pepper spots. I’m starting to think he might be a zebra laced, some of them have pepper-spotting and reduced fin patterning, esp. at smaller sizes. I suppose it’ll be more apparent as he ages- if he really is leopard, he’ll wind up rather solid colored.

It turns out stripe development in some breeds is light-related so he may have just gotten a long day, resulting in unfinished stripes. Leopards are produced with 4-8 hours of light a day, which is another reason I doubt he is one- he’s just a mass-produced petshop fish, not something anyone put extra care into raising.
Of course, the caveat here is that he could also be a leopard raised on a long day..

Lobster!” she cries
as the white-carapaced crustacean lumbers towards her
its two-tipped claws clacking on the umber tiles.

Its shell is dull and unglossy in the light from the sky.

If you give a loach a few big water changes during the same span of weeks as numerous storms blow through town, it will dance, so, so much, and whack your poor crypt, so, so much.

Poor crypty-crypt. :(

The crypt is actually the happiest plant in there, heh- despite being smacked whenever my little pal gets over excited, it’s already made a new leaf. I’m so proud of it.

[it figures that the one plant I was actually worried about is doing great and it’s the other plants that hate me, doesn’t it?]

sneezing while doing crunches makes you feel pretty hardcore
